Learn About our New Genetics Navigator

What is a Genetic Navigator?

A Genetic Navigator is a person who possesses both lived experience and professional training to offer comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities or special healthcare needs, as well as their family members. They provide personalized assistance to help navigate complex systems, including access to medical care, social services, and education. In addition to the provision of emotional support, Genetic Navigators offer guidance on available resources and information on the latest research pertaining to the individual’s specific condition. By serving as a bridge between families and healthcare professionals, Genetic Navigators play a critical role in ensuring that individuals with disabilities receive the care and support they need to lead fulfilling lives.
